The event took place on February 23, in Moinho das Freiras, Pedrogão Pequeno, in the municipality of Sertã

On February 23, 2019, the third stage of planting in the "Bosque Bluepharma” (Bluepharma Grove) project was carried out in Moinho das Freiras, Pedrogao Pequeno, in the municipality of Sertã, where about 1000 oaks were planted by around one hundred volunteers who showed up, employees of Bluepharma and their family members, Bluepharma Genéricos pharmacy customers and members of the Rotary Clubs of Coimbra Olivais, Coimbra, Coimbra Santa Clara and Nyon, Switzerland.

This was a continuation of the Bosque Bluepharma Project, created in 2017 through a partnership between the Bluepharma Group, the Town Hall of Sertã, and Aproflora, which has the goal of planting 5,475 oaks and seeing to their proper maintenance in the medium term.

Bluepharma, Plural, Agrosistema, these Rotary clubs, together with other companies, also symbolically signalled the start of construction of the “Parque de Merendas” (Park for Picnics), a project that they proposed to embrace and for which they generously contributed, in line with the planting of trees. The intention is to renew an area severely affected by fires over the last years, restoring the forest and installing equipment for public use, allowing visitors to enjoy, with more quality and pleasure, a space of unequalled natural beauty. During the coming months, ideally by the end of 2019, both projects will be concluded, in the hope that the final result will also be an inspiration for others.

This reforestation action is part of Bluelinks, an internal programme that seeks to integrate the social, economic and environmental objectives of the Bluepharma group, structuring and dynamising the various actions and initiatives it promotes. Present for this event were the President of Bluepharma Group, Dr. Paulo Barradas Rebelo; Vice- Chairwoman of Operations, Dr. Maria Isolina Mesquita; and Vice-Chairman, Dr. Miguel Silvestre.

This project was also supported by the Parish Governing Board of Pedrogão Pequeno, which offered the land and will monitor the planted area to detect any problems (diseases, drought, others); SERQ - Centre for Innovation and Forest Competencies collaborated in the institutional organisation and logistics of the initiative.
